“The unexamined life is one not worth living” – Socrates
The Crooked Mile is a place of reflection, self-discovery and transcendence through the “controlled suffering” of a Backyard Ultra format located in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Our vision is to provide a space for people to explore their true nature and upper limits. We believe that becoming whole is a process ... a process of integratring your darkness with your light and a reality only realized through immersing yourself in the journey, seeking truth.
The Backyard Ultra format has no defined end. If you have the courage to step into The Crooked Mile corral, push yourself past the point where you “think” you can't take another step, you will realize power in yourself you never imagined existed. The experience will make you a more sober, thoughtful, loving and empathetic human.
We welcome all ages and fitness levels, hence there is no qualification standard other than your commitment to keep going when you think you can't! Whether the goal is walking 5 miles or running 200 miles, our only priority is to meet you where you are and support you in your journey.
We all have super-human potential in us, become "uncommon amongst the uncommon" at The Crooked Mile.
