---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What is the weather like at TCM?

A: Spring and fall can be very unpredictable with the heaviest snow falling from mid March to late April, however our friend Jordan Ricks at Revenant Running had to cancel The Great Divide 100 0n May 11, 2022 due to 24” of snow nearly overnight. The summer hosts regular afternoon storms that move through quickly but can be very violent even at 8,000ft. Plan on extreme temperature shifts, wet, muddy and possibly snowy conditions…then hope for the best!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What is the native wildlife?

A: Elk, moose (yes, we had a sighting last spring), black bear (wont bother you unless you’re a berry), mule deer, coyote, bobcats, mountain lions (momma and cubs were sighted last spring), snakes (the rattlesnakes don’t typically live above 7500-8000’ and there’s never been a sighting (please be aware of where you step and reach your hands just in case) and tons of beautiful birds singing.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is there a limit to the number of crew a runner can bring to TCM?

A: We operate a regenerative farm on the property, out of respect for the land and its ability to rest and recover, we ask that crews to be limited to two adults, excluding the runner.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How do I access the property?

A: Within two weeks of the event date you will receive an email with detailed directions and access code to the front gate.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Will there be designated crew stations?

A: Yes, each runner will be provided a 10x10 staked area for their crew station.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Will there be areas for camping?

A: Yes, if you are planning on camping (tent/ rv/ trailer), please email two weeks prior to the event with your intent and accommodations will be made and instructions will be provided. There will be two outdoor showers (cold water only) and compostable porta-potties on site as well.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Where/ when is registration?

A: Registration will be held the Friday prior to events from 1700-1900 and the morning of the events from 0600-0645. PLEASE NOTE ACCESS TO THE RANCH WILL BE LIMITED TO THESE HOURS. STAFF WILL BE AT THE MAIN GATE TO DIRECT YOU TO YOUR PARKING AND REGISTRATION/ CAMPING AREA.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What areas of the property are accessible to runners/ crew?

A: This is a private ranch, we ask attendees to respect the privacy of the owners, all homes, buildings, greenhouses, animal shelters are ABSOLUTELY OFF LIMITS. This is a growing farm, there will be an increasing number of livestock and farm implements as time goes on and we ask that attendees and their families/ crews refrain from interacting with the animals or wandering the farm without owner supervision. Our goal is to expose runners to organic, off grid living...if your interested in a tour, please ask one of the owners - violating this policy will be grounds for immediate removal from the property.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Can attendees explore the ranch?

A: The Highpark Ranch HOA has been gracious enough to extend “road rights” to put runners on Buckhorn Lane for half the loop in certain conditions. A condition of that “right” is that runners will stay on the road at all times. Residents here are very serious about their privacy and it is best to show respect to eliminate any issues or possible revocation of the “road rights” which will jeopardize our ability to continue events in the future.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What happens if an attendee or their crew/ family violates any of the conditions to participate?

A: The runner and their crew/ family will be disqualified and asked to leave the property immediately.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Are all the events on the same course?

A: All events are on the same course. Each season the course will change in order to provide rest for the land.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are the surface conditions of the course?

A: Depending on conditions, the course may be 4.16 miles of cross country (cut mountain grass), two loops of 2.08 or one loop consisting of 2.08 cross county and 2.08 on a dirt ranch road.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is the course technical?

A: No. not at all, but the cross country portion is grueling. The surfaces are cut grass and dirt road.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is this course difficult?

A: YES! There is 550-600ish feet of gain depending on the loop, the cross country sections will take a toll on you pretty quickly as you settle into the grind. The road section provides a much needed break from the cross country section.
